Our goal is simple: Get more people outside.
How can we help you do that?
Get outside. Go now. Just start.
Pick a place.
Get a recommendation from a friend
Use AllTrails or another trail app to find an outdoor space near you
Use Google: be specific and ask something specific, such as “Outdoor space for my dog to run near me”
Make a plan.
Start by asking questions such as: How long will I be out? Will I need snacks? Will I need to layer my clothes?
If you plan on going overnight or to a remote place alone, let someone know about your plans
Pack your bag.
Start by asking questions: What might happen during this excursion? Will it get dark? Will it get colder? warmer?
Keep a first aid kit and other essentials ready to go to save time on your way out the door
Get dressed.
This is an essential step. If you aren’t dressed appropriately, you won’t want to be outside very long
Comfy shoes and wool are my top items when getting ready to go outside.
Get outside.
Don’t wait for the perfect time or the perfect weather. It is rare when those things overlap.
Remember that the goal is just being outside. You don’t have to accomplish anything other than breathing and being
Reflect.
You probably learned at least one thing while you were outside… write it down, make a voice memo or quick video. The act of writing it or saying it will help you remember
Make gear adjustments soon after returning so that you don’t forget
